What happened

On 29 May 2024, we hosted an event for Sydney food bloggers at a French-Japanese degustation restaurant in Glebe, Sydney. Carte, as featured on Broadsheet and Koalamate, combines fine dining with fine art.

Keiron, Raymond and I arrived in the afternoon, on a day that was luckily not raining. Raymond worked with Chef Bing Liu in the kitchen to capture videos, whilst Keiron took the responsibility of photography. I worked with the Carte team to set-up the dining floor.

At 6pm, Sydney food bloggers arrived and the night’s proceedings formally began. I took their coats and showed them around. I felt proud to have the responsibility to introduce Carte. This is no ordinary restaurant.

10+ courses were served with flawless presentation. Each bite tasted magnificent. Raymond and Keiron were so busy capturing imagery that I told them to take a break and nourish themselves!

The night went smoothly. Each of the tables were served pleasantly by Carte’s tall maître d’, who shared about the composition of each dish. I was glad to see the cuisine getting the recognition it deserves.
